In the light of ongoing celebrations of World Book and Copyright Day, Prof-Shafiq Ur Rehman, Director, Institute of Information Management was cordially invited as a guest speaker at Quaid-e-Azam Library, Lahore on 24-4-2025. While emphasizing the importance of celebrating World Book and Copyright awareness programs, he stated some practical strategies to invite authors, readers and publishers towards academic and public libraries and their expectations from the libraries and library professionals as well. Dr. Shafiq also shared valuable insights from his international experience of serving as a Library Leader in Saudi Arabia and France regarding the role of libraries and library professionals in promotion of book reading culture and the underlying responsibility of Pakistani Public Libraries, Government organizations and individual readers in this regard. He also visited the recently established Lincoln Corner at Quaid e Azam Library and appreciated the commendable efforts of the library in providing modern library spaces for the citizens of Lahore.
